Colonel Winsloe in particular sang the praise of Captain Baillie and his incredible hospitality and kindness towards the decrepit soldiers. It is this experience of unconditional hospitality that we wish to share with you during your stay with at Baillie’s Manor Guest House and B&B.
Baillie’s Manor was built in the classic Karoo-style of the 1800s. Typical of this Karoo-style is the aesthetically pleasing architecture of which many are nostalgic. High ceilings, brilliantly ergonomic proportions and the use of natural materials give it a special simplicity and elegance.
The exceptional sense of space created by the high ceilings and spacious rooms creates an incredible internal volume as well as thermal efficiency. Baillie’s Manor has been owned by numerous people throughout its 150 years and has thus undergone various alterations, remodelling, and restoration to maintain its venerable allure.
Presently Baillie’s Manor Guest House is adorned with 18th and 19th-century wooden furniture and boasts authentic yellow wood ceiling beams. Upon entering the estate you are immediately transported into an almost forgotten era.
