The Aardklop National Festival that takes place annually in Potchefstroom is a smorgasbord of arts and culture. People travel from all over the country to come and witness the great displays of theatre, live music shows, dance, drama, delectable cuisine, and beverages. The festival attracts over a 150 000 visitors – a great advantage for tourism and Potchefstroom as a whole.

Grain SA’s NAMPO Harvest Day is one of the largest agricultural exhibitions under private ownership in the Southern Hemisphere and it takes place annually, just outside of the town of Bothaville, in the Free State province of South Africa.

The Vredefort Dome World Heritage Site originated roughly 2000 million years ago when a giant meteorite struck the earth about 20 km from Potchefstroom.
